Together we strive to strengthen our democracy
Who We AreThe New Tampa Democratic Club (NTDC) was originally founded in 2014. After a brief period of recertification, the club was reorganized in January 2016 by New Tampa resident Laura Blank. Her goal was to give New Tampa residents a voice and an opportunity to become more informed and engaged voters. Laura’s passion and enthusiasm for electing Democrats inspired her to place an ad in the local news magazine inviting New Tampa residents to join together. With 25 men and women in attendance at the first meeting, it was evident that many new Tampa residents were seeking a place to share their democratic values and plan activities promoting the election of Democrats.
The club is chartered with the Florida Democratic Party through the Hillsborough County Democratic Executive Committee (HCDEC). The club holds monthly meetings on the fourth Monday of each month. The club continues to inform the local community regarding candidates and issues at the heart of our community. Our members include all neighborhoods in the New Tampa area including, but not limited to, Hunters Green, Richmond Place, Arbor Greene, Cory Lake Isles, Heritage Isles, Pebble Creek, Tampa Palms, K-Bar Ranch, Live Oaks Preserve, Esplanade of Tampa, and Grand Hampton. This also includes apartment residents located inside those subdivisions, as well as those along the Bruce B Downs corridor and adjacent neighborhoods from Tampa Palms to the Hillsborough County side of County Line Road. |
Our Core Values
We believe it is the responsibility of all Americans to be involved in our democracy; to elect officials who will spend their time working for all their constituents while upholding our Constitution and our rights as citizens. New Tampa Democrats believe in a government for “we the people,” all the people. We strive to be the voice and conscience of our state and believe we should hold elected officials accountable. |
